Since our founding in 1951, we have advanced through continuous technological innovation. In 1955, we achieved Japan’s first production of polyethylene‑laminated paper. In 1964, we perfected release‑liner manufacturing technology and launched sumilease .
Release liners are essential in a wide range of applications—from automotive, home appliances, and electronics assembly to construction materials and marking films, as well as consumer products such as bandages and stationery tapes. To meet demanding requirements, we have pursued R&D continuously, and our products are highly regarded in Japan and overseas for their quality.

June 1951:
Established Kamome Kogyo Co.
June 1953:
Company name changed to Kaito Chemical Industry Co.
November 1955:
Introduced Japan’s first extrusion laminator; developed the kraft‑laminate product “Kapola.”
December 1963:
Noda Factory completed.
June 1964:
Developed “” release liner.
October 1965:
Introduced a wide laminator for kraft‑tape substrates.
January 1966:
Developed “Hi‑cloth,” a base material for cloth adhesive tape.
January 1972:
Company name changed (notation unified).
November 1979:
Introduced a silicone coater with laminator for ““
September 1993:
Completed first phase of construction of Iwaki Factory.
July 1997:
Iwaki Factory obtained ISO 9001 certification.
March 2001:
Stopped release‑paper production line at Noda Factory and consolidated into Iwaki Factory.

Expanded ISO 9001 scope to additional divisions.

Based on our management philosophy of coexistence and co‑prosperity with society and reducing environmental impact, we set the following environmental policy to promote conservation and efficient resource use and to fulfill our corporate social responsibility. All employees act with full understanding of this policy.
